• Discussions with New Atlantis and others
• Creation of a separate non profit organization registered in the UK as Affordable Homes Project
• Informed all UK members of this and other projects December 2004
• Media announcement late December 2004

January 2005

• Questionnaire to suppliers of building packages on affordable houses and styles, and invitation to co-operate on this project
• Letter to house developers explaining concept of project and inviting co-operation
• Questionnaire to local councils to see what they are currently doing towards affordable housing provision
• Decide on some areas to try a pilot study of creating affordable houses, based on areas that response has come in from earlier press releases, and member interest, therefore having a known requirement.

February 2005 

• Preparation for public event in target areas 
• Talk to councils in target areas
• Brief media in target areas
• Follow up on members interested in project
• Identify or advertise for local project managers interested in managing the builds
• Identify other local people who are interested in concepts or becoming involved

March

• Hold public meetings in target areas, follow up new members immediately to identify need
• Proactive search of existing sites and identify potential sites
• Local advertising in target areas where necessary to identify more sites
• Tell all local suppliers of trade card

March / April

• Obtain options on some sites
• Apply for outline planning consent on sites 
• Get members researching and looking at funding etc
• Review progress, if Ok identify and start on second group of target locations

We may be able to move faster if sites are found with consent or we have a number of members join from the December publicity in an area.

As the projects run, a critical path will be drawn up for each place and stage within a place so that we can move as fast as possible. 

Targets

The target is to get the first of the members who join this project in January 2005 into their new homes by the end of the summer 2005.
