The points programme

A reward programme that could allow you to get free life membership of the club, get your deposit paid on a new home and a great deal more.

You will see from the bar of buttons above that we have now expanded the information on the points programme and affiliates and organized it over a range of pages.

By having an affiliate scheme it makes it possible for some people, who are not already members in their own right, to become involved in the points scheme, earning their membership, rather than joining by paying a fee in the usual way, and other members who feel that they can run effectively a group of affiliates, to use points sharing with their affiliates to build larger numbers of points faster.

If its the affiliates scheme that interests you then read this page first before going to the affiliates page as the information is not duplicated there.

Other buttons above also cover specific aspects of the points programme.

So what is this all about

What we are about to explain is a points programme using Bpoints.

All organizations spend a percentage of their income on promotion, telling more people about their existence and in recruiting new members and we are no exception. The problem of course is that at any time we can only be doing so much with our resources, so while running promotional events we are not spending as much on providing members services, creating opportunities and helping members dreams to come true.

If on the other hand some members, and it will only be a small percentage who will want to become involved, want to spread the word and help new people to join and get the benefits of membership, then we can spend less of our resources in this area and concentrate more on developing services in the area, to keep up with increased interest.

In order to encourage some members to become involved we have set up the points programme which allows them to accumulate points and be rewarded for their efforts. This is not a recruitment commission as such, in that it is not intended to produce small rewards to those who just introduce a single or a couple of members, as this we feel is just being a good member and helping your friends, and something that you would quite naturally do. Instead it is designed to reward those who go out of their way or proactively go about recruiting new members.

To take part in the programme you have to already be a member, or an affiliate (explained below)  and for every member that you sign up, you are awarded a minimum of 10 points, but may be as many as 100. The number of points currently awarded for each grade of member varies from 10 to 100 and detailed on the rates page, but some examples are shown below. These accumulate over time and then from time to time you exchange them for a reward or get a non repayable grant. The scheme may be expanded to include other activities as well as recruitment at a later date.

Points don't have a monetary value, and a single point is not worth anything at all.  The grants you can exchange them for generally becomes proportionally more valuable as the numbers increase, so the greater the effort you put into helping the club, the far greater the rewards.

However amongst the best deals on offer is the opportunity to get both your membership joining fee back and pay your subscription for the next year, making belonging to this club free to those who want to choose this option.

Lets simplify things and look at the result of introducing people at the lowest cost rate,  and being awarded just 10 points for each, but remember that other rates would allow you to earn up to 100 points. Recruit just 4 members and you will have earned enough to pay a years clubs subscription,  5 and you could get 2 whole cases of top quality wine, 10 and you can get your joining fee refunded and still have some points left, 67 and get a £10,000 contribution towards your deposit on land or a house, with the increasing value of points in stages until 3 steps up. If you could recruit 500 members you could get a massive £100,000 contribution to building your next house.

The top grant is currently set at £200,000, and like all of our grants you never have to repay it.

The number of members you need to introduce to qualify for larger grants is greatly reduced from the example above, as many will be at other membership grades and with varying numbers of points being awarded, up to 100 per new members, and you will see if you were able to get just 100 members at the grade that earned 100 points, you would get a  £200,000 non repayable grant. Realistically you are as unlikely to do this, as you are to have them all at the basic rate.

So who is going to want to benefit from the points programme.

Not a great number, most will be more interested in getting on with sorting out their own project, getting started on building their home and will have too many other interests or demands on their time to want to get involved in a large way, some may perhaps just recruit a small number as they come across people interested, so as to pay their subscription and later look to use the points towards furnishings etc. Some might think of having an annual party to promote the club with an invitation to those who do join to a very special wine evening where between you, you will get to have some of the finest wines that can be obtained.

By the time people who join now get their house built they could be using the points earned to add quality oil paintings to many rooms or other ways to add finishing touches.

Members benefit by more recruitment in their area

In order to get more projects going, excite land owners about working with us to get planning consent on their land and allowing more members to have their needs met quicker, we need to have a steady increasing number of members in an area. As some get into projects more follow and so on, allowing people to wait for the right project for them, without being concerned that there will not be sufficient for later projects. It is therefore in all members interest to help us and those members who are actively interested in the points programme.

The points programme rules

The points programme exists to reward members who help the club significantly, as members we should all of course strive to help the club grow and be as effective as it can as well as to help other members when we can, but some may want to help far more. In most cases this will be connected with the spreading of information and new members being recruited, and is not connected with becoming a lead member.

The points programme is administered by Maximum Coverage Ltd on behalf of New Atlantis International Services Corporation. The programme is funded by New Atlantis International Services Corporation, from saving made in the promotion of the club, or in other savings made via the programme.

A Bpoint has no commercial value in its own right, individual points cannot be used for anything, but groups of points can be exchanged under a variety of grant offers that will be made from time to time by New Atlantis International Services Corporation.

To exchange points your membership must be up to date and the points earned must have been awarded within the last 4 years. Points more than 4 years old that have not exchanged will evaporate. (3 years in the case of affiliates)

You will be able to use points in many ways, from acquiring life membership of the club, through earning a deposit for a home to the purchase of specific items such as oil paintings and framed prints. The current offers will be displayed on the clubs web site.

As to the way that you recruit new member we ask that you are honest, truthful and not mislead people who join. Never try to pressurize anyone in to joining, allow those who are not interested to have the right to choose not to become involved. Like all clubs we want to keep as many of our members as happy as we can, don't want to give false hopes that cannot be achieved, and encourage members to become as involved as they wish. We also ask that amongst the information that you produce is an exact copy of the current membership rules and conditions and that you make sure that you leave a copy with all new members you sign up.

So who might be more interested in getting involved in a larger way, to get really large rewards

Probably not as many as you might expect as most members are of course joining the club so as to be able to get on with building their dream home and although the points programme makes good solid sense, it will not distract many from the main task of getting on with the build.

However there are some people who it will appeal to in a larger way from those who prefer to be at home like the mothers of school aged children, those recently retired and others who may like to look on this as a very profitable part time job, although its far more like a hobby that is rewarding in a number of ways, as no selling is involved its just sharing your excitement and allowing others to discover just what is available and can be done.

It may also apparel to those who just don't earn enough to qualify for a mortgage in their home area.

Discretionary grants provide a means to allow some of the points to be used to cover costs, allowing those who wish to, to reinvest part of what they have achieved into larger and a series of promotional events. It also provides a means by which a wider range of uses of points can come about.

We have another page that looks in more detail at these groups and also suggests ways that you can go about introducing lots of members and receiving really good rewards. Click here to get to the page for those who may  want to get more involved.

How do we know who to reward the points to.

On the membership application form you use, you add an additional line under the membership signature and date, and this should contain  the line 'introduced by member, and your member reference'. If you wish to share the points between members or between a member and an affiliate then see the details on how to do this under the affiliates section below.

Splitting points across members and affiliates

Affiliates are not members, but are affiliated to a member. Information on affiliates is now on its own page By having an affiliate scheme it makes it possible for some people, who are not already members in their own right, to become involved in the points scheme, earning their membership, rather than joining by paying a fee in the usual way, and other members who feel that they can run effectively a group of affiliates to use points sharing with their affiliates to build larger numbers of points faster.

Points scheme and point sharing

Members may share points on new recruitment with other members and their own affiliates, in any proportion that they choose on a case by case basis, marking the joining form to show the allocation of points. This is achieved by the ‘introduced by’ section of the form where members and affiliates are listed followed by a hyphen a P and the number of points allocated to each. Where this is not added the points will be split equally, and where odd points exist above what can be equally split they will be added to the members or affiliates that appear first in the list.

In the case of an unmarried couple for example this could be attractive, as it allows for the situation should they break up that they each retain the points they have acquired.

In the case of full members involved in recruitment it allows a route where some people could become affiliates, working with the member and both member and affiliate could benefit.

All points evaporate after 4 years. Points held by affiliates evaporate after 3 years.
