The Bpoints programme rules

These rules relate to the points programme, using Bpoints run for New Atlantis International Services Corporation (NAISC) and open to members of the Self Build Homes Club.

The current set of rules are those published by NAISC, and anyone carrying out unauthorized changes to any web site does not effect the rules in force, although NAISC and others will do their best to make sure any unauthorized changes to its web site is corrected as soon as it can be.

The Bpoints program is only open to members and affiliates of the Self Build Homes Club, and this program is unique to this club at this time. Other clubs are expected to join in shortly, allowing the chance to earn more points. Clubs expected to join in soon are Property Club International and the Property Pension Club. At some point the Holiday Property Club is also likely to join in.

This scheme applies to members and affiliates. An affiliate is not a member but affiliated to a member. By having affiliates  it makes it possible for some people who are not already members in their own right to become involved in the points scheme, and other members who feel that they can run effectively a group of affiliates to use points sharing with their affiliates to build larger numbers of points faster. Also by including  affiliates the club has provided a route for people to earn both their membership and a sizable proportion of their house costs without any initial expenditure by them.

The points programme exists to reward members who help the Self Build Homes Club significantly, as members we should all of course strive to help the club grow and be as effective as it can be, as well as to help other members when we can, but some may want to help far more. In most cases this will be connected with the spreading of information and new members being recruited, and is not connected with becoming a lead member. This programme may be extended to involve other clubs at a later point or bpoints may become convertible to another type of points to allow use in other club schemes.

Bpoints are normally issued on the basis if new members signed up after the first visit by a consultant, in line with the points schedule published as a part of the rates of this scheme. Where a new member changes membership grades on the visit of the consultant, the points will be issued on the membership grade then applicable.  NAISC can grant Bpoints to any person, in any number that it feels is justified, on the recommendation of a consultant.

The points programme is administered by Maximum Coverage Ltd on behalf of New Atlantis International Services Corporation. The programme is funded by New Atlantis International Services Corporation, from savings made in the promotion of the club, or in other savings made via the programme.

A Bpoint has no commercial value in its own right, individual points cannot be used for anything, but groups of points can be exchanged under a variety of grant offers that will be made from time to time by New Atlantis International Services Corporation.

The value of deals, grants and any other benefits, vary drastically in relation to points used so no value should ever be attached to points. As they eventually evaporate ultimately they are of no value whatsoever. So points as such have no commercial value and cannot be sold by you, or transferred outside of very tight limits as defined by these rules.

Through this scheme members can get grants, a grant is defined as a benefit that the member has in theory to repay, but no time scale is set and no payments will ever be requested. By leaving you the option to repay a grant at a future date should you wish a grant dos not become income.

Currently to our knowledge, no loyalty points scheme operated by supermarkets or others is taxable, however this may change and any tax liability should be reviewed and paid by you if it becomes applicable to you. Our current understanding is that neither points issued or grants given incurs you in any tax liability.

Members Points more than 4 years old that have not exchanged will evaporate. These unused points evaporates to a special account that NAISC may utilize, cancel or give away.

Affiliates Points more than 3 years old that have not exchanged will evaporate. These unused points evaporates to a special account that NAISC may utilize, cancel or give away.

To exchange points members must have their  membership up to date and the points earned must have been awarded within the last 4 years. Affiliates must either first become a member or may without becoming a member claim a number of the special deals.

The procedure to convert points to deals or grants is defined and published by NAISC on a web site and printed copies can be obtained from Maximum Coverage Ltd.

You will be able to use points in many ways, from changing membership types, acquiring  life membership of the club, through earning a deposit for a home to the purchase of specific items such as wine, digital camera, computer, oil paintings and framed prints. The current offers will be displayed on one or more of the clubs web sites. No item will be removed from the list without 3 months warning or as much warning as it is possible to give.

Grant certificates are valid for 12 months, except part membership payments grant certificates, which are valid for 3 months. All certificates can only be used for the purpose for which they are issued. Certificates in relation to contributions towards a plot or build cost, can be renewed annually, as long as the member has a valid membership and is up to date and that the request is made between the point the certificate elapses and one month later. Consultants have a fast track way of getting grants issued missing out the certificate stage. Certificate and payment steps can occur at the same time where appropriate.

Discretionary grants may also be available, but these should not be  a means of bypassing the rest of the scheme, but extending the use for those who get a larger number of points or who need to recover promotional cost to allow them to recruit further members. NAISC will determine what is valid, the Bpoint rate to apply, and other conditions that should apply in any case. A common requirement will be that only points over 100 held may be used to apply for discretionary grants. There is no right to discretionary grants.

As to the way that you recruit new members we ask that you are honest, truthful and not mislead people who join. Never try to pressurize anyone in to joining, allow those who are not interested to have the right to choose not to become involved. Like all clubs we want to keep as many of our members as happy as we can, don't want to give false hopes that cannot be achieved, and encourage members to become as involved as they wish. We also ask that amongst the information that you produce is an exact copy of the current membership rules and conditions, the short rules are fine, and that you make sure that you leave a copy with all new members you sign up.

The Self Build Homes Club has a number of types of membership and both membership is offered on the basis of a joining fee and subscription either monthly or annually and by paying a once only life membership fee. Options exist to allow members to transfer to other membership types and from subscription to life membership. Changes in rates can take place by the use of cash or points or a combination.

Associate members can have 1 affiliate, who would normally be their partner at no cost, and may be able to have more if they can convince the club that they are going to be able to run a group of affiliates effectively, while full members can have any number of affiliates that they choose to have.

There is no cost involved in an associate member or full member having 1 affiliate.  Those who have more than one, pay a subscription of £5 per month per affiliate, although the club can reduce this where it feels the case demands it. Members are not permitted to ask affiliates to make any contributions to them towards the subscription. This is designed to cut down the administration costs of maintaining information on large numbers of non active affiliates, and avoid anyone looking to recruit extreme numbers without any chance of benefit being produced.

The club will seek to match would be affiliates with members or with consultants who may have them as affiliates or as temporary affiliates until such time as a member is identified that they may be affiliated to.

All affiliates have to be registered with the club. Their affiliate number is the members number followed by a hyphen, an A and a number for example M1000–A1, each affiliate reference will only be used once. Associates, full members and consultants are responsible for the supervision of affiliates attached to them and both are covered by the club rules.

Members may share points on new recruitment with other members and their own affiliates, in any proportion that they choose on a case by case basis, marking the joining form to show the allocation of points. This is achieved by the ‘introduced by’ section of the form where members and affiliates are listed followed by a hyphen, a P and the number of points allocated to each. Where this is not added the points will be split equally, and where odd points exist above what can be equally split they will be added to the members or affiliates that appear first in the list.

Affiliates can at any time upgrade to associate membership. Most of those who are not very closely connected with the member they are affiliated with, will choose to do so, within three years, if not far faster.

Affiliates can earn points, but can only use them towards becoming a member or for items shown as a deal; when used to become a member any points balance is retained then as an associate member. If they decide to join in the conventional way without using any points, then their affiliate points are transferred in full to their member account. Affiliates can also assign all their points, which are normally not transferable, to the member they are affiliated to or to New Atlantis, no other points transfers are allowed, unless they chose to cease to be an affiliate.

Members should end affiliations with people who are not actively involved in recruitment, and we suggest as a guide that if an affiliate has not introduced any new members for a period of three months, that they have probably lost all interest in doing so. Members may also find that supervising affiliates does not suit them or that they don't get on with the affiliate, and should then end the affiliation. We suggest where you can you talk to the affiliate about this first, and then where appropriate you let the club know.

An associate  member can give notice that they no longer wish the person they are affiliated with, to be affiliated to them, in which case the club will inform the affiliate. The affiliate will have the following choices and have 30 days to reply.

A full member can give notice that they no longer wish the person they are affiliated with to be affiliated to them, in which case the club will inform the affiliate, and they will have the following choices and have 30 days to reply.

*In any case where an affiliate has transferred to be attached to another member or to a consultant, any points they have at that time can be used by them or donated to New Atlantis, they cannot be transferred to the new member or consultant they have become affiliated with, as this could be misused as a back door route to allow point transfers to occur.

An affiliate can end an affiliation to a member at any time by writing to the club, and will then be given the same choices as above.

If a member is expelled then any affiliates that are attached to them will be given the options as if the member had given them notice to end the affiliation.

If a member or affiliate is expelled from the club, then they will no longer qualify to be able to use any of the points they hold and they will then evaporate, they will not be transferred to anyone else.

NAISC reserves the right to alter the rules if necessary, and will notify in advance if possible any major changes to all members having points at that time. It will also post the latest set of rules on a web site. A full printed set of rules may be obtained by writing to Maximum Coverage Ltd.

If it is necessary to suspend or cancel this programme NAISC will give as much notice as it is able. If through actions outside its control it is forced to suspend this, then evaporation time will stand still until the situation is resolved. If though a situation outside its control it is forced to stop the scheme then all points will evaporate, and any benefit that is derived by this will go towards the further expansion of the ideals promoted by New Atlantis, but NAISC will select what objective and how it should be achieved.
