A large plot has just come up, can you set up a consortium to buy this quickly

If we already have a group of members in the area and the land is suitable, then we can look at it very quickly and make a very fast decision. We can also sometimes bring in other members from outside the area, that are interested in property they want to build and rent out, or interested in investments.
It would depend upon the time scale of the sale of the land, how it is to be sold, if we can get an option on it and other factors, as to if we had enough time to run a recruitment campaign in the area to get additional members. Each situation we look at individually, but it is difficult to go into an area where we don't have a number of people who wish to buy plots and to generate a complete collection of new people. Define their needs, size plots they need, and more and for them to get their finances and mortgage situation sorted out. While you could get a lot of interest and even people to agree to take part quickly, if a large number then failed to complete and you constantly had to search for others, then it is likely the deal would be lost.
We don't spin yarns to vendors, while we can very often put together a group pf members and complete very quickly, we won't misled them into thinking we can magic up committed buyers instantly. By being completely honest with them many are prepared to give us an agreed amount of time, and if this runs out we would explain exactly where we were and see if there was a way that the deal could go ahead in some way, with perhaps the vendors still having some plots that we go on introducing to members where it meets their needs.
If the site is far larger then we may also look to do joint ventures with developers, builders, housing associations or others, so as to be able to share the site in some way.
